Archival Pieces Neuberger pg 1
Item: FA1009    *NEW*    TOM DAVIS COA   G-10
Description: Early Type with neat extra notch or "hook" -  This unusaul specimen was out of a collection from Simpson County, Kentucky.  It has GREAT Symmetry and shape.  The outside of the stem shows moderate grinding, the Auriculate base only very light grinding.  It has very nice flaking.  The UNUSUAL thing, is the extra notch, or hook above base in one side of blade!  I am not sure how to type this one.  There is an identical piece, minus the extra notch, listed pg. 780 in Overstreet 11, on pg. 772 in Overstreet 12, and again on pg. 915 in Overstreet 13 as a Hemphill variant, but I am not convinced that is correctly typed either.  Now, I am not sure where the one out of Simpson County, KY was found, but it local to there, this would separated these two very similar pieces by a distance of around 350 miles as crow files!  Another collector friend suggested a Buzzard Roost Creek to me, but doesn't seem to fit either, to me.  It may be a Hardaway variant also.  However you type it, it's a very nice unusual piece! Update!  Showed this piece to Tom Davis today and he seemed to think it is a re-sharpened Neuberger, so there's another opinion for you!  Comes with a Tom Davis COA grading it a G-10.  Ex- Rocky Hall, Ex- Monty Pennington
