Item: FP598    *NEW*        Rarely Beautiful Piece - Davis G10 COA    
Description: Gem Quality Carter Cave Early Ovoid Knife - This Extraordinary Early Ovoid Knife was found in Bourbon County, Kentucky.  It is thin and has just Super workmanship over the entire blade!  The bulbous tang is well shaped and nicely flaked!  It is made from a Gem Quality piece of Carter Cave Chet that is Translucent around the edges!  This is one of the Finest examples of the type that I have seen!   It has near Perfect Symmetry and Great Edge work that Early Ovoids are known for!  It comes with a Davis COA dated August 26, 2014 grading it a G10.  This piece is a Center Piece in any frame!  An Outstanding Investment Grade Relic!   Ex- M. **UPDATE**  Phillip Foley was able to provide more info on this stunning example for me.  It was found by a cousin of the Wasson Family by the name of Paul Dudley Wasson.

Description: Super Hornstone Early Ovoid Knife - This Super Early Ovoid Knife was found in Washington County, Kentucky.  It is Very thin and well made!  It has nice symmetry being re-sharpened slightly more on one side than the other.  It has great flaking and Super Edgework.  It is made from a piece of highly patinated Hornstone with a nice contrasting blotch near the tip on one side. This fine piece comes in at just under 5 inches long!  It comes with a Davis grading it a G9.  Ex- M. Wasson, Ex- Monty Pennington

Description: Fine Boyle Chert Kentucky Early Ovoid Knife -  Here is a well made Early Ovoid Knife made of Boyle Chert that was found in Bourbon County, Kentucky. It is thin and well flaked.  It has an Ancient "burin" fracture on one side of blade near tip.  (see photos).  In inspecting this piece, I discovered that it has minor "re-chipping" to one side of the very tip.  I have outlined this in the last two photos in the extra photos. Description: Sonora Chert Early Ovoid Knife - This Early Ovoid Knife is made of beautiful Sonora Chert.  It was found in Hardin County, KY.  IT has some cortex material near the tail on one side that really highlights the piece.  These Blades were the earliest form of notched points or blades.  This is a beautiful example of a hard to find type.  Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington
