Strawberry Chert Benton Double-Notched (Also known as Nettleton) - This Outstanding Double Notched
Benton is made from Highly Collectable and sought after Strawberry
Chert. It was found in Dearborn County, Indiana. This
beautiful pieces has near perfect symmetry, is Very thin and has
extraordinary flaking! It was in the Earl Townsend Collection and
bears his notation " 1549 Townsend / Dearborn Co, Indiana" .
Earl's original catalogue notes say "1549 Pink - Double Notch Spear,
just West of Hamilton County, Ohio, inside Indiana - Geo Smitte? -
3-18-53" A Very Colorful. Beautiful example. It comes with a Davis COA
grading it a G10+. Ex- Earl Townsend, Ex- Sam Johnson, Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- Monty
