March 28th, 2007

This fantastic discoidal or "chunky stone" was surface found today in Central Kentucky by Steve Gay in his 3rd year of hunting.  It was found half exposed in a rough plowed field.  It is made of a highly translucent material, probably quartz, but maybe a highly polished flint?  It measured 2 1/2 inches x 1 1/8 inch.  You can see deeply into the material.  This piece was a true pleasure to hold and photograph.

Hope you enjoy viewing it.

Sincerely,

Monty R. Pennington
